We work for client of all types including individuals, small and large businesses, private companies trusts and farmers. We aim to build friendly but professional relationships with our clients and to make a difference to them by listening to their specific needs and finding ways to address them. The majority of our staff have links with the area and the local community of Tynedale, having either originated from the area or having spent the majority of their lives here. Many are involved in local interest groups. Our commitment to the local community is evidenced by our support for such diverse local events and organisations such as Tynedale Rugby Club , Hexham Rotary Club and Hexham Book Festival.

Nicholson Portnell regards the mental wellbeing of their staff as being of the utmost importance. As a result, the Partners believe it to be of significant importance that their staff have adequate time away from work, and work emails. Not only do the Partners feel that time away from work is conducive to mental health, but also means that our staff are better able to perform their roles to a high standard when working. It is therefore against Nicholson Portnell’s policy for its staff to work more than their contractual hours and to check and send emails outside their working hours.
